Wednesday 4 easy miles at a 9:23 pace
Lat week I did a 10 mile run on Sunday and felt great that day, but the next day I was soo tired! I felt like I took sleeping pills the whole day! I skipped Zumba too. Then on Tuesday I went to Core Fusion but still felt really tired all day. I skipped this day to run and knew I could push it to Wed and then have my long run on Sunday. Wednesday morning I woke up and realized that I was just sick. No turbokick for me, there was no way I could go kick, punch and jump! Everyone in the house had been sick and now it was my turn. I felt achy and my head killed- after lunch, more day quill and a shower I felt much better! My head wasn’t pounding and I was happy that I could run with Pepper to our boys T-ball game. It was Pepper’s easy run day which was perfect as I needed an easy run!

Saturday Long Run 12.6 miles 10:00/mi pace
Pepper was doing 7-8 miles on Sat and I decided to take another rest day to recover from being sick then I could do my long run with her. So I ran to her house- 5 miles then we ran 7.6 together. And during my run to her house I was thinking I could totally be done when I get to her house! But I did need to get one last long run in before my next half. She said she had a route- I was wondering if there would be any hills, but though no- it’s supposed to be a long easy run. Well I was wrong. lol. To start we ran up the hill on SR9 then turned right at the light, then we went where I’ve never ran before, we turned right and I said, were not going up that hill are we?? She said- I don’t think so- she only mapped it online, never ran the route before- well we went up the hill with a 10% grade sign on the side!

On this run I brought my little Sony camera and was going to try and take photos while running. I want to take photos at the Rock n Roll race and thought I should practice.

I left my house at 6:45 am and at about 2-miles the sun was about to hit me. Can you tell I’m still in the shade? I felt the warmth of the sun coming! It took my body 1-mile to get warm and my hands 1.5 miles. I only wore a tank top and shorts.

Is it not so beautiful in the morning in Utah?? If I still lived in Anaheim, I’m not sure where I would run? There would be lots of cars, smog and probably close calls of getting hit! When I did live in Anaheim the only place I ran was on the basketball court or the softball field! lol

It’s a little tough taking pics while running, it’s much easier to stop. But during my San Diego 1/2 I don’t want to stop- and get run over by 20,000+ people! I got my number!! 16581. I wonder how tough it’s going to be to get going and not run into people or people running into me. When I signed up in April, without ever running a half, I said my finish time would be 2:05, that puts me in corral 16. I do plan on finishing before 2-hours though! ;) (hopefully)

In the pic below you can see Molly’s Nipple and the city of Hurricane!  A little crooked but I’m running…  :)

I have to say I LOVE running with someone on my long runs! I had my new iPod I got for Mother’s Day, but never listened to it. Pepper and I talked the whole time, except maybe when we were running up that hill. At least the hill was short! Time just flies when there is someone with you, I never thought about how many miles were left or what time it was or how long I had been running. I also liked running a new route! There was a Weight watchers 5K walk and we saw a ton of people after this hill. I love seeing other people walking and running.

I was originally going to just crop the above photo of Pepper and I. Well first we are missing our feet! lol And I do not like my shorts and I do not like my 10lbs I need to lose! Pepper had her kid 2 months after me! lol But she gained nothing and I gained enough for two people. lol
But the Under Armor Shorts were quite comfortable and cool. I think I’ll like them for the summer warm runs.

I also love that I ran yesterday because that means today is a rest day! Hangtown MX is on- yeah Blake!!, Connor is asleep and Evan is next door! :)

I bought some more Body Glide in case I misplace one. And on the packaging it says:
    Prevention
    is better than a cure.

That is so true. And not just for a rash. hehe. What comes to my mind is regular Dr checkups. My grandma died of Cancer and that could have been prevented if she went to the Dr. I have had three neighbors recently die. Again regular Dr checkup may have prevented this.

Just my little .02 to share. Make sure you get regular checkups! :)

Last wekend was pretty fun!  I did the Hell Hole 5K which was really a 6K.  Went to breakfast after, went to a parade, went to the park for bounce houses and kid games with corny prizes. Then took everyone home for naps, then went back for more fun at the park and a fireworks show!  Then on Sunday I decided to run 10 miles in my new Old Navy $25 running outfit!  We also went to Ross for a little shopping on Sunday.  Three weeks until the Rock n’ Roll San Diego 1/2 Marathon!!

I wrote captions for each photo. =)

    2nd Place 30-39!

All the 30 year-old must have slept in. I got 13th o/a and they were all in their 20′s except for 1 that was 40+ and the girl that beat me! lol  I had black sock or fishnets- Mike chose the fishnets. ;)  My custom one of-a-kind outfit was made with material that was supposed to be a Santa hat that I never made!  So Santa to Devil- it works. lol  Even tho the course was .62 farther than last year- I still beat my time by 5 min!

    My little Red headed Devils!

At the track waiting for fireworks!

Connor knows to line-up next to him for photos now- So Cute. =)

    Fireworks from iPhone!

It was actually a great show with a great finale! And I come from Anaheim-watching fireworks everynight in the Summer from Disneyland!

Evan covered his ears the whole time!

    Sunday…

Started the day with a 10 mile run!

I ran to Burger King/Gas Station and back home.  I had to pee at BK- so I had a 5 min intermission during the run. It was a little hot too and then it was a little windy on the way back which made it seem cooler.  So my $25 outfit from Old Navy- I think the top was $15.50 and shorts were $10.  Well the shirt gave me a rash on my left arm which I didn’t notice until mile 9- I didn’t put glide on that spot.  I think the shorts are a little short for my big thighs.  I need to lose 10lbs still or wear shorts longer than 2″.  So I don’t get a rash from my legs rubbing! Ahhh! lol

We went to Ross and had fun. lol

Evan liked this hat we didn't buy. And showing us his Rock n' Roll sign. =)

And when he’s not staying in bed for bedtime- he will stick his arm out the door with this sign. It’s so funny!  It’s hard to get mad for not staying in bed. :)

    Evan's 1st baseball card!

I custom made these baseball cards for the whole team.  The Hot Rods are a real minor league team out of Kentucky and are a farm team for the Tampa Bay Rays.  That makes it easy to get the logo! ;)
